Current Research

Our research focuses on exploring human embryonic development using 3D stem cell-based embryo models (SCEMs). Our goal is to understand how different cell states emerge during development and how these cells self-organize in a coordinated fashion to set up the primary body plan and organ primordia. This knowledge will directly inform our efforts to generate therapeutically relevant cell types and to build next-generation pre-clinical tools.
